A Legacy

Cardamom
Four generations of devotion to the queen of spices, grown on the slopes that first gifted her to the world.
Four Generations
One Mission
The First Seeds
Murugan Pillai, our great-great-grandfather, cleared a modest plot on the Theni foothills and planted his first elaichi saplings. He understood what scientists would confirm a century later — that this land's volcanic soil and cloud-filtered light created something singular.
The Estate Grows
His son Krishnaswamy expanded the estate to encompass adjacent land in Idukki, Kerala — crossing the invisible boundary that separates two states but shares one extraordinary terroir. The estate grew to 60 acres, and the family's reputation as custodians of the finest elaichi was established.
Ancient Methods, Modern Standards
The third generation introduced careful sun-drying techniques passed down from Ayurvedic traditions, preserving volatile oil integrity. They rejected mechanised harvesting, choosing instead to employ multi-generational harvester families. Quality over quantity became the family covenant.
Regal Elaichi — Direct to You
Today, the fourth generation brings this centuries-old harvest directly to discerning homes — no middlemen, no compromise. The same hands that plant, nurture, and harvest now pack and ship. This is heritage, delivered.
Our Beliefs
Sustainable Stewardship
We farm with the future in mind. No synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilisers. We enrich the soil that has fed four generations, ensuring it feeds four more.
Community First
Over 80 harvester families depend on our estate. Fair wages, housing, and schooling for their children are not charity — they are the foundation of our quality.
Uncompromised Quality
We reject up to 40% of each harvest. Only pods that meet our hand-tested standards for size, colour, and aroma carry the Regal name.
